Dazzling Banyan Tree

After a pretty awesome day of beach, pool, beach, sunset, massage and fabulous Thai food all day, this picture, though somewhat cliche, summarises the day at this resort.

Captured Joy

Think that the happy faces sum up the good time we had. There is nothing like a night out with good friends who work well together.

--Day 13

Cereal Killer

Normally people take pictures of the dish before it is devoured but I think this picture is fitting of one of my favourite dishes - Cereal Prawns.

Karung guni

Karang guni, the modern version of the rag and bone man, with an authentic name. Previously they would take anything you give to them, now they are quite discerning but papers are always welcome.

Chef Extraordinaire and Good Friend

First friend feature this one. Yesterday, was my first proper indoor photo shoot, read here. After the shoot was done, Shih Erh was giving her staff a demonstration of how to serve Yu Shang, a dish normally served during Chinese New Year, when I captured this image.

"Cuckoo"

Living in Jalan Kayu is like taking a step back in time. This place has a certain charm and history to it. One thing that attracted me here was the fact that there are no flats in sight and the lush greenery. To my surprise that was not the only "country like" thingy about this place. In the mornings there are a bunch of chickens running around and you can hear a cockerel going "Cuckoo"
-- Day 5

Prawn Mee

Prawn mee at Sultan's Kitchen. There is a funny story to it. Read "A path less taken"
-- Day 4

Twilight

OK this one is a cheap shot because it has been used in the original blog as a Random Image but this is another view of Farrer Park in Singapore with the clouds rushing away. Taken with the little Samsung NV24HD which is a really great camera using a 10 second exposure.
-- Day 3

PP Salad

This photo signifies success! One aspect is another sumptuous and spontaneous concoction of the PP (Pomegranate and Persimmon) salad and the other aspect is that I finally figured out how to successfully take my signature close up shots of food with the 50D and the new 18-200 lens. There is no stopping me now.
-- Day 2

Fireworks

New Year's Day 2009, means a start of great year. What's better than to start the year making merry with friends and loved ones, while gazing at fireworks 20 storeys up!
